February 2016 Minutes

Guild Minutes February 13, 2016

Treasurer’s Report: As of 1/8/16 our balance was $4,683.26. We have received 350.00 for 14 membership dues, 65.00 for white elephant sale items, 5.00 for a spindle kit. We paid our donation of 500.00 to the Nevada State Museum, our balance as of 2/12/16 is $4,603.26 with 21 paid members.

Old Business: The Learning Tree for our March meeting will be Part 3 of Marilynn’s Color Study, please bring your kits and your hand held looms.

Capital City Farm Days will be held in Fuji Park, Carson City Apr. 21-22.

CNCH will be held in Modesto, CA, April 8-10, enrollment opened Jan. 3, an individual membership is $5. Nancy Pryor is our liaison for CNCH.

There is some confusion as to which State Fair we will be attending. The Nevada State Fair is June 9-12 at Mills Park or The Western Nevada Fair and we don’t have the information on the dates. Hopefully Nancy Pryor will be able to “unconfuse” at the March meeting.

Hannah visited the Job’s Peak Guild meeting last month. They offered up a complimentary membership so we can visit their meetings, one person at a time. We voted to allow them to visit our meetings anytime and any number, no membership necessary. Their meetings are held in Gardnerville on the third Saturday of the month (except July and December), at the UNR Extension Office across from Lampe Park in Gardnerville. Meetings begin at 10:00 am to Noon. For more information:

Lacy Knitters Guild membership is $15.00 per year. You receive 4 newsletters a year, each containing patterns for knitted lace, doilies, etc. For more information:

Doris brought in a flyer about Lani’s Lana who is offering fine rambouillet wool, combed top, DK, fingering and sport yarn in white, natural colors, and dyed. For details:
