Guild Minutes December 12, 2015
Attendance:

Treasurer’s Report:
Doris reported we have received one membership and our balance is $4,587.51.
Library Report:
Heidi reported that we have new book donations and the Book inventory will be posted in the blog.
Old Business:
It was decided that our October meeting we be on the second Saturday of October at the Schoolhouse and not held at the Celtic Fair.
It was decided that our Charitable Giving will again be, $500 for the Navajo Rug restoration at the State Museum in Carson City.
New Business:
Nancy Pryor is the liason for CNCH. Enrollment opens on Jan. 3. The membership is only $5 per year. She will bring us more information at the January meeting.
Marilyn Clarke will be starting the Color Study for our Learning Tree at the January Meeting. The fee for the 3 sessions is $20., it would be easier, if possible, to just pay Marilyn in cash. You will need a “Zoom” type loom for the third class.
Capitol City Farm Days will be held April 21 & 22 at Fuji Park in Carson City.
Learning Trees for the upcoming year were discussed. As of now our Learning Trees will be:
January, February, March – Marilyn Clarke’s Color Study. Please bring small plastic containers with lids.
April- Mike Ericson will teach us photography techniques for photographing our items.
May-Doris Woolszyn will host our meeting and show us how to skirt fleeces at her home.
June- Marilyn Clarke will host and will be instructing us on Natural Dyeing and Pole Wrapping Shibori. Please bring washed cotton material to participate.
July- Mimi Bullard will be hosting and will be instructing us on chemical dyeing. She has invited everyone for a campout on the night before the meeting.
August-Meeting will be held at the Wilbur May Arboretum at Rancho San Rafael.
September- Our Spinster’s Retreat will be held at the Davis Creek campground. Please bring ideas for the Learning Tree to the January meeting.
October-Bartley Ranch Schoolhouse
November- Bartley Ranch Schoolhouse
December- Bartley Ranch Schoolhouse, Christmas Potluck and Party
Maxene Harlow let us know she and Richard will be moving to Mississippi to be with Richard’s parents. Her house needs to be empty and on the market by Jan. 1st.
Doris reported Lou Weaver has cones of yarn for a knitting machine for sale. You may contact her at Nevadalu@yahoo.com
Doris also informed us that shearer Devon Strong had passed away. Helen McFarland told Doris that his hand-milking flock of sheep are for sale in Montague, CA.
Heidi Ericson invited everyone to Friday Night Art, also known as FART, at her home on the 3rd Friday of each month from 5:30-9:00. Please bring any projects you want to work on, Mike will be available for digital photography questions, and Heidi has a large assortment of coloring books. Just come and hang out as well!
